Job description

Position Summary
The Human Resources Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations of the Distribution Center Human Resources department by providing administrative, recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, payroll, benefits, and compliance support. This position serves as a trusted resource for associates and leaders while ensuring HR processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and employment laws. The HR Coordinator works closely with the HR Manager to help create a positive, engaging, and compliant workplace that supports the organization's operational and strategic objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Recruiting & Staffing
  • Coordinate hourly recruiting efforts for the distribution center positions.
  • Schedule interviews, hiring events, and pre-employment appointments.
  • Maintain applicant tracking systems and candidate records.
  • Coordinate background checks, drug screenings, and employment eligibility verification.
  • Communicate with staffing agencies regarding workforce needs.
  • Coordinate orientation scheduling and new hire preparation.
  • Assist with monitoring staffing levels and provide recruiting updates to the HR Manager.
New Hire Onboarding
  • Conduct new hire orientation.
  • Complete I-9 verification and employment documentation.
  • Process new hires into Workday.
  • Prepare employee badges, lockers, and onboarding materials.
  • Ensure completion of required compliance training.
  • Assist with tracking onboarding progress through the first 90 days.
Employee Relations
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding company policies, benefits, attendance, payroll, and general HR matters.
  • Assist in resolving employee concerns while escalating complex issues to the HR Manager.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding employee information and investigations.
  • Support employee recognition and engagement programs.
  • Assist with communication of company initiatives and policy updates.
Attendance & Leave Administration
  • Monitor attendance and timekeeping records.
  • Assist supervisors with attendance policy administration.
  • Coordinate with HR Manager and Benefits Director to ensure accurate leave tracking.
  • Maintain attendance reports for leadership.
Payroll Support
  • Review employee time records for accuracy.
  • Assist with payroll corrections and adjustments.
  • Investigate payroll discrepancies.
  • Ensure payroll documentation is completed timely.
Administration of Benefits
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment questions.
  • Assist in coordination of open enrollment activities.
  • Maintain benefits documentation.
  • Communicate benefits resources to associates.
HR Administration
  • Maintain employee personnel files.
  • Ensure HR records comply with company retention requirements.
  • Prepare employment verification requests
  • Maintain HR metrics and reports (overtime tracking, daily labor hours usage, departmental headcount, special projects and initiatives).
  • Order HR supplies and maintain department inventory.
Employee Engagement
  • Assist in planning employee appreciation events.
  • Assist in coordinating service awards and recognition programs.
  • Support wellness initiatives.
  • Promote company culture and employee engagement activities.
  • Help organize community outreach and volunteer events.
Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with:

Required Qualifications
Education
  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience
  • 2-4 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, retail distribution, or logistics environments preferred.
  • Experience with high-volume recruiting preferred.
