Job description
Located in the fastest-growing region of the state, the University of North Georgia is a multi-campus university with an enrollment of over 20,000 students, making it one of the largest institutions in the University System of Georgia. Federally designated as a senior military college, one of the university's signature leadership programs is its 800-member Corps of Cadets on UNG's Dahlonega Campus.
Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track Photography faculty position in the Department of Visual Arts to begin fall 2027. The Department of Visual Arts is a NASAD accredited program and is dedicated to teaching excellence. Job responsibilities will be on the Gainesville campus.
Review of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will:
- Teach three courses each semester, holding office hours, maintaining studio space and equipment, assisting advisees, service on departmental and institutional committees, professional development/continuing education for emerging software, and a focus on pedagogies that foster student success and workforce readiness.
- Demonstrate a successful record (and commitment to) teaching in a creative environment or equivalent industry experience that is transferrable to the classroom.
- Responsibilities include expectations for teaching, scholarship and service.
Required Qualifications
- M.F.A. in Visual Art or equivalent industry experience and expertise.
- Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated skills in the following:
- Digital and darkroom photography
Preferred Qualifications
- The ability and willingness to teach on-line and interdisciplinary courses are also preferred.
