Job Summary:
The Marion Turpan College of Psychology and Counseling at Fairleigh Dickinson University is seeking to fill an opening for a Visiting Professor in Counselor Education from August 2026-August 2027. This individual will serve as a member of the core faculty in the CACREP-accredited Counselor Education terminal master's program.
The successful candidate will teach masters-level courses, supervise practicum and internship and be involved in practicum and internship placement. This faculty member will also be actively involved in CACREP-related and other departmental and university-wide administrative duties and committees. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in CMHC-specific leadership or experiences that relate to such leadership and administrative opportunities.
The anticipated starting date is August 2026; however, the search will remain open until the position is filled. Salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program and be licensed or licensed-eligible in the state of New Jersey. ABD is not acceptable. We seek candidates with a strong track record of teaching and service in counseling. The area of program emphasis is open but training in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is highly desired with comparable counseling, teaching, and clinical experience. The candidate must be able to teach core courses at the Masters level in Clinical Mental Health Counseling as well as engage in service to our CMHC program. The individual must be committed to high-quality instruction and be able to mentor students.
Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
