As we continue to expand our capabilities in business aviation engine support, Alberth Aviation is investing in the development of a dedicated aircraft engine business. We are seeking an experienced Engine Product Line Manager to lead this strategic initiative and build a world-class engine product line.
Position Summary: Engine Product Line Manager
The Engine Product Line Manager will lead the growth and profitability of Alberth Aviation's aircraft engine business. This role is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, evaluating aircraft and engine acquisition opportunities, building relationships with engine OEMs and authorized service providers, and expanding Alberth Aviation's presence in the business aviation engine market. This position requires extensive knowledge of business aviation engines, maintenance programs, market values, engine documentation, and aircraft lifecycle economics. The successful candidate will work closely with Sales, Purchasing, Operations, and Executive Management to identify profitable opportunities while developing long-term strategic partnerships throughout the aviation industry.
This is a unique opportunity to build a new business within an established aviation company. The Engine Product Line Manager will have significant autonomy to shape Alberth Aviation's engine strategy, develop key industry relationships, and create one of the industry's premier independent engine trading businesses.
Primary Responsibilities
Business Development
- Develop and execute Alberth Aviation's aircraft engine product line strategy.
- Build relationships with engine OEMs, authorized service centers, MROs, operators, brokers, and aircraft owners.
- Identify opportunities to expand engine trading, leasing, exchanges, repairs, and aftermarket parts sales.
- Represent Alberth Aviation at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings.
Engine Trading & Acquisitions
- Identify and source aircraft engines, engine material, and surplus inventory.
- Evaluate complete aircraft acquisition opportunities for engine and material value.
- Assess engine market conditions and identify attractive purchasing opportunities.
- Negotiate acquisitions and sales with customers, brokers, and vendors.
- Develop pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
Product Line Management
- Manage inventory levels and product mix for the engine business.
- Establish pricing guidelines and profitability targets.
- Monitor engine market trends, supply and demand, and competitive activity.
- Develop annual business plans and growth initiatives.
Technical Evaluation
- Evaluate engine records and maintenance status.
- Assess LLP status, maintenance programs, engine utilization, and overhaul history.
- Determine engine values based on market conditions, maintenance events, and remaining life.
- Evaluate complete aircraft for acquisition, teardown, or resale opportunities.
OEM & Vendor Relationships
- Develop strategic relationships with:
- Pratt & Whitney Canada
- Honeywell Aerospace
- Rolls-Royce
- GE Aerospace
- Williams International
- Authorized engine service facilities
- Independent MROs
- Coordinate repair events and overhaul opportunities.
- Manage outside repair vendors and service providers.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Work closely with Sales to identify customer opportunities.
- Support Purchasing on engine-related acquisitions.
- Assist Finance with inventory valuation.
- Provide technical expertise during aircraft acquisition reviews.
- Support Marketing with new product initiatives and industry education.
Requirements:
Qualifications
Required
- 7+ years of experience in business aviation engine sales, product management, technical services, or acquisitions.
- Extensive knowledge of business aviation turbine engines.
- Strong understanding of:
- Engine maintenance programs
- LLP management
- Engine overhaul cycles
- Engine records
- Market valuation
- Experience evaluating complete aircraft acquisitions.
- Established relationships within the business aviation industry.
- Strong commercial negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- A&P Certificate (preferred but not required).
- Experience working for an OEM, engine MRO, aircraft broker, or engine trading company.
- Familiarity with CAMP, CESCOM, Corridor, and engine maintenance tracking systems.
- Strong financial and analytical skills.
Success in This Role
Within the first 12 months, the Engine Product Line Manager will:
- Establish Alberth Aviation as a recognized participant in the business aviation engine market.
- Develop strategic relationships with all major business aviation engine OEMs and leading independent MROs.
- Successfully source and complete profitable engine acquisitions and sales.
- Build an inventory strategy that supports long-term growth.
- Develop new revenue opportunities through engine trading, exchanges, repairs, teardowns, and aftermarket support.
- Create a scalable engine product line capable of becoming a significant contributor to Alberth Aviation's overall revenue and profitability.
