The Operations Leader position is essential to what we do at Chick-fil-A Austintown. Operations Leaders exist to stabilize operational execution across all shifts and operational areas by reinforcing standards, coaching leaders, and modeling disciplined operational execution.

Operations Leaders work closely with Operations Directors and Assistant Directors to ensure established systems and strategic direction are carried out consistently and excellently. This role provides visible leadership across the Operations Team and includes both guest-facing and production-facing responsibilities.

Operations Leaders have formal authority over Shift Leaders during live operations and are responsible for creating clarity, accountability, and consistency across the team. While they do not determine the strategic direction of the organization, they are responsible for modeling unity, reinforcing established systems, and ensuring disciplined follow-through.

Through steady coaching, clear accountability, and strong operational execution, Operations Leaders protect the guest experience while helping develop the next generation of leaders at Chick-fil-A Austintown.

Responsibilities:

Provides a "REMARK"able dining experience for all guests

Leads and coaches Shift Leaders and Team Members during live operations, reinforcing established standards and procedures

Serves as a mentor to 1-4 assigned Shift Leaders through regular 1-on-1 conversations, live observation, feedback, and leadership development

Provides clear, direct, and timely coaching tied to leadership behaviors and operational standards

Tracks and communicates key operational metrics such as speed of service, labor, and other measures of success

Identifies and publicly celebrates winning behaviors while providing corrective feedback when necessary

Protects guest experience, food safety, product quality, speed of service, order accuracy, attentive and courteous service, and labor discipline

Leads 1-2 full shifts per week based on business needs while remaining available for operational leadership across scheduled days

Demonstrates composure under pressure and models disciplined execution across all operational areas

Makes sound, urgent day-of operational decisions to protect the team, guest experience, and business

Reinforces established systems and procedures rather than creating independent processes or redefining standards

Identifies operational breakdowns and communicates systemic concerns to Operations Directors and Assistant Directors

Provides operational insight and contributes improvement ideas through the established Improvement Engine process

Participates in assigned meetings and Improvement Engine projects as directed by project and lane owners

Translates leadership decisions into clear expectations and consistent execution for the Operations Team

Maintains proficiency in core operational positions and leads by example through hands-on execution

Monitors assigned tasks and systems, ensuring responsibilities are completed reliably and standards are maintained

Creates a culture of accountability, healthy communication, and consistent follow-through across operational areas

Documents significant performance patterns and escalates persistent leadership or performance concerns appropriately

Helps develop emerging leaders by increasing their ownership, maturity, confidence, and consistency in decision-making

Works as a member of the Operations Leadership Team to promote overall operational stability rather than focusing solely on individual areas of responsibility
