Job description

OPERATIONS & ACCOUNTING COORDINATOR

Burnett Real Estate Group — Goodlettsville, TN

On-Site • Monday–Friday • 32–40 hours/week • $25–$28/hour

Keep three growing companies running smoothly — and be the person everyone counts on.

The Burnett family of companies includes Burnett Builders Inc., a 27-year custom home builder and general contractor; Burnett Real Estate Group, a commercial real estate brokerage and property management firm; and 615 Roofing, a fast-growing residential and commercial roofing company. Together, we build, buy, lease, and maintain properties across Middle Tennessee — and we’re looking for one highly organized person to become the administrative and bookkeeping backbone of all three.

This is a new position created because we’re growing. You’ll own the day-to-day bookkeeping support, property administration, and office coordination that keeps our projects moving and our properties leased. You’ll report directly to the company’s owner, with accounting procedures set by our Finance Director and project priorities from our Director of Operations, in a fast-paced, family-owned office on Two Mile Pike in Goodlettsville. If you’ve been a bookkeeper, property management assistant, or office coordinator in construction, real estate, or a trades business, this role was built for you.

What You’ll Do

•     Bookkeeping support: code and enter vendor invoices and job budgets in QuickBooks; prepare customer invoices and payments for signature; process AR and AP for the property management portfolio

•     Property administration in AppFolio: tenant communications, maintenance request intake and scheduling, lease listings, applicant screening, and re-leasing coordination

•     Compliance: track subcontractor and vendor agreements, W-9s, and Workers’ Comp and General Liability certificates; help prepare for annual insurance audits

•     Construction support: set up projects and maintain budgets, contracts, change orders, selections, and closeout records in Buildertrend; support the Director of Operations and superintendents with scheduling, document collection, and customer updates; prepare customer invoices; coordinate and track warranty work

•     Roofing support: prepare proposals from approved estimates, order materials, maintain the production calendar, and coordinate permits, crew documents, customer notices, invoicing, payment follow-up, and closeout

•     Reporting: prepare weekly status reports and exception lists for leadership, plus routine updates for property owners and investors

•     Systems: maintain shared task lists, calendars, deadlines, and standard operating procedures; keep records current across QuickBooks, AppFolio, Buildertrend, and Dropbox

•     Front line: serve as a friendly, professional first point of contact for vendors, tenants, and subcontractors

What You Must Have

•     QuickBooks experience — you’ve coded and entered invoices, managed budgets, and handled basic AR/AP, not just watched someone else do it

•     Proficiency with Microsoft 365 — Word, Excel, and Outlook are part of your daily toolkit

•     Exceptional organization and follow-through — nothing falls through the cracks on your watch

•     Strong written and verbal communication — you’ll talk with tenants, vendors, subcontractors, and owners daily

•     Self-starter mentality — you see what needs doing and do it

•     Trustworthiness and discretion — you’ll handle financial and confidential information

What Would Make You Stand Out

•     AppFolio proficiency — ideal, but we’ll train the right person

•     Buildertrend or other construction management software experience

•     Background in construction, property management, real estate, or a trades-related office

•     Experience supporting multiple entities or a multi-company back office

Why Join Us

•     $25–$28 per hour based on experience, with a compensation review at 90 days

•     Flexible schedule — 32 to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

•     Paid time off and paid holidays

•     A brand-new role you get to shape — clear responsibilities and real ownership from day one

•     Structured 90-day onboarding: we bring you up to speed one company at a time, with a dedicated trainer for each phase

•     Work directly with ownership — no layers of bureaucracy, and your work visibly matters

•     Stable, established companies with 27 years in business and ambitious growth plans

How to Apply

Submit your resume along with a short note telling us about your experience with QuickBooks and how you’ve managed competing priorities. We read every application.

Employment is contingent on a background check and credit review, as this role handles company funds and financial records.
