  CURRENT OPPORTUNITY:          Assistant Operations Manager (Electrical Services)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assistant Operations Manager plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our electrical services division. This position is responsible for dispatching service calls, coordinating technician schedules, sourcing vendors, managing equipment logistics, and ensuring jobs are completed efficiently. The ideal candidate has prior electrical industry experience, strong organizational skills, ability to work autonomously, the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment, and above average attention to detail. 
This position participates in an every-other-week 24/7 on-call rotation, providing support for emergency service calls, technician assistance, and operational inquiries from employees across the company across several trades and states, as they arise.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Dispatch
  • Dispatch technicians for emergency and scheduled service calls.
  • Coordinate technician schedules to maximize productivity and response times.
  • Monitor incoming service requests and prioritize work based on urgency.
  • Provide after-hours leadership for this operations division during assigned 24/7 on-call weeks, responding promptly to emergency service requests, technician questions, and operational issues.
  • Serve as the primary after-hours point of contact for technicians and other company personnel during assigned on-call rotations.
  • Maintain communication with customers, technicians, vendors, and management regarding job status.
  • Act as Operations Manager in their absence when required.
Vendor & Equipment Coordination
  • Source and coordinate qualified electrical subcontractors and vendors when additional support is required.
  • Arrange rental equipment deliveries and pickups, including lifts, generators, trenching equipment, and specialty tools.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure materials and equipment arrive on schedule.
  • Track rental periods to avoid unnecessary charges.
Warehouse & Inventory Support
  • Receive incoming shipments of materials, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 800 pounds using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Safely move pallets and freight throughout the warehouse using a manual or electric pallet jack.
  • Verify shipment contents against packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Organize and maintain warehouse inventory and staging areas.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing material deliveries with field personnel and vendors.
Technician Management
  • Schedule technicians for service, maintenance, and project work.
  • Monitor technician GPS locations and job time to ensure efficiency and accountability.
  • Verify technician time entries and job completion records.
Administrative & Operational Support
  • Update job progress in company management software.
  • Maintain accurate records of dispatch activity, vendor communications, equipment rentals, and inventory.
  • Support the Operations Manager with reporting and daily operational tasks.
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of operations, dispatch, project coordination, or electrical industry experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of commercial electrical systems preferred.
  • Ability to understand electrical terminology, service calls, and job priorities.
  • Experience coordinating field technicians.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and scheduling/dispatch software.
  • Experience with GPS tracking systems is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Above average organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.

Requirements
  • Electrical industry experience required or strongly preferred.
  • Ability to participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule every other week, including nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
  • Ability to respond promptly to emergency calls, technician support requests, and operational inquiries during on-call periods.
  • Ability to safely receive, unload, and move shipments weighing up to 800 pounds using pallet jacks and other appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Ability to lift and move materials in accordance with safe work practices.
  • Valid driver's license.

Work Environment

The role is fast paced, requires managing multiple priorities simultaneously, working in both office and warehouse environments, receiving and moving freight using pallet jacks, and responding to after-hours emergencies and operational inquiries during assigned 24/7 on-call rotations.
