Job description

Hospitality Manager – Food & Beverage Operations & Events

Del Rey Yacht Club | Marina del Rey, California

Are you an experienced hospitality professional who thrives in both restaurant operations and event management?

Del Rey Yacht Club is seeking an energetic, hands-on Hospitality Manager to join our Food & Beverage leadership team. This is not a desk job. We're looking for someone who enjoys leading from the front, managing exceptional member events, and rolling up their sleeves to support restaurant and bar operations whenever needed.

If you have a passion for hospitality, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to deliver memorable guest experiences while leading a team, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Operations Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in the daily operation of the Club. You will oversee member events from planning through execution while helping manage our dining rooms, bars, and front-of-house operations.

This position requires a true hospitality professional who is equally comfortable planning a large regatta dinner, supervising a busy dinner service, or stepping behind the bar or onto the restaurant floor during peak periods to support the team.

The successful candidate will become one of the key operational leaders responsible for maintaining the Club's high standards of hospitality and member service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and execute member events, private functions, regattas, and social gatherings
  • Coordinate with the kitchen, bar, and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless event delivery
  • Develop event timelines, staffing plans, and operational logistics
  • Manage daily front-of-house operations across multiple food and beverage outlets
  • Lead pre-service meetings and coach staff throughout service
  • Deliver exceptional member service and resolve guest concerns professionally
  • Support scheduling, labor management, and operational planning
  • Assist with recruiting, training, and developing front-of-house employees
  • Prepare event summaries and operational reports
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing standards
  • Step into restaurant, bar, and service shifts as operational needs require
  • Deputize for the Food & Beverage Operations Manager during periods of absence

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of restaurant and food & beverage management experience
  • Proven experience managing private events, banquets, or hospitality functions
  • Strong restaurant floor management experience
  • Experience working in high-volume restaurants, private clubs, hotels, or upscale hospitality venues
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills
  • Outstanding communication and member service abilities
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Experience with POS systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office
  • The confidence to lead from the front and support the operation wherever needed

This Is a Hands-On Leadership Role

We're looking for someone who believes managers should be visible, engaged, and part of the operation.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working alongside the team, assisting during busy restaurant services, supporting the bar when required, managing events from setup through completion, and creating exceptional experiences for members and guests every day.

Why Join Del Rey Yacht Club?

Located in beautiful Marina del Rey, Del Rey Yacht Club offers a unique hospitality environment where outstanding food, exceptional service, and memorable events come together in one of Southern California's premier private clubs.

You'll work alongside a passionate management team committed to raising standards, developing people, and creating an exceptional experience for every member and guest.

If you're an experienced hospitality leader with a background in restaurants, food & beverage operations, and event management, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and become part of the next chapter at Del Rey Yacht Club.

This position is open and hiring now.
