Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.ย

Minimum hourly rate: $25.41 (new rate for 2026-2027)

Job Responsibilities:ย 








  1. Provide front-line customer service by phone, email, and in person to staff, families, students, instructors, and community members. Serve as a welcoming and knowledgeable first point of contact, responding to inquiries, providing information, and directing individuals to appropriate resources. Monitor and manage public access to the facility by observing lobby entrances and granting entry in accordance with established safety and security protocols.
  2. Assist customers with program inquiries, registration processes and class status information in a timely and professional manner. Process registrations, transfers, cancellations and refunds through the Minnetonka Community Education registration system. Monitor and manage class waitlists, payment plans and scholarship enrollments to support participant access and program efficiency. Generate reports, maintain accurate participant records and collaborate with administrators to identify and follow up on outstanding account balances and payment issues.
  3. Provide clerical and administrative support to the Director, Coordinator and Program Managers. Assemble program packets, prepare materials and correspondence for customers and volunteers, and assist with report preparation and distribution. Create and post the daily building schedule for the Minnetonka Community Education Center (MCEC), verify volunteer background check completion and eligibility, and communicate program updates, schedule changes and other important information to class participants. Maintain organized records and support efficient office operations through timely and accurate completion of administrative tasks.
  4. Assist with the planning, preparation and implementation of Minnetonka Community Education events and activities. Attend and support the execution of major community events, including the Youth Triathlon and Tour de Tonka, by providing customer service, registration support, event logistics and on-site administrative assistance as needed.
  5. Serve as a backup for other Minnetonka Community Education Office Assistants to ensure continuity of customer service and office operations. Provide cross-functional support during staff absences, peak registration periods and special events, and perform other duties as assigned to support departmental goals and organizational needs.


Job Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated successful experience in key areas of responsibility.
  2. Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; experience with databases/registration systems and ability to learn new tools quickly
  3. Ability to type and process documents accurately at a minimum of 50 wpm
  4. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records
  5. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments with changing priorities and frequent interruptions
  6. Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, including a professional, positive, and responsive approach with diverse audiences
  7. Proven problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and ability to anticipate and respond to varying situations
  8. High level of professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail, with the ability to follow direction and contribute to team success
  9. Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, data privacy, and respectful handling of sensitive information; knowledge of Community Education programs and district operations preferred
