The Position:

Join the Trinity College of Nursing amp; Health Sciences faculty as an Assistant Professor of Nursing and help shape the next generation of nurses. In this role, you will teach undergraduate nursing students across didactic, laboratory, and clinical settings while fostering a supportive, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment.

The Assistant Professor plans, implements, and evaluates learning experiences aligned with the Trinity College of Nursing and Health Sciences vision, mission, values, and program outcomes. Using innovative, evidence-based teaching strategies, you will promote critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and professional growth in future nurses committed to improving the health of individuals, families, and communities.

This position fulfills the academic triad of teaching, scholarship, and service through active engagement in scholarly and service activities. The Assistant Professor contributes to curriculum development and continuous program improvement, collaborates with faculty and administration to support student success and accreditation requirements, and participates in assessment and quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates the behaviors aligned with the mission and vision of the College and adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of the department which includes regular, reliable attendance.
  • Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
  • Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA, FERPA, TITLE IX, and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding higher education and healthcare.
  • Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
  • Is knowledgeable of College and department compliance requirements commensurate with position (Title IV, Title IX, Campus Violence). Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of the supervisor. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.
  • Supports vision, mission, and values of the College.

Education: An Associate Professor will have their MSN or terminal degree in Nursing

Experience: 2 years of clinical practice

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Registered Nurse license in both Iowa and Illinois or be eligible to do so
  • Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Must possess and maintain ACLS
