Job Description
Basic Purpose
This is a seasonal, part-time, entry-level position. We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team in maintaining facility standards, supporting animal welfare, and assisting with educational programming. This role requires a strong commitment to animal care, customer service, and physical labor in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Typical Function
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are met across all areas
  • Perform trail, and animal enclosure upkeep, including repairs and cleaning
  • Assist with general groundskeeping and facility organization
  • Greet and assist visitors with professionalism and courtesy
  • Develop and deliver educational programs (power point)
  • Plan and lead arts and crafts activities
  • Engage with guests in informed interpretation
  • Lead guided hikes, bike rides, disc golf
  • Perform minor trail maintenance
  • Assist in event setup/takedown
  • Daily care for turtles
  • Complete daily opening/closing duties
  • Routine grounds maintenance around Nature Center
  • Trash pickup in park

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable with hiking and working on trails
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions (indoors and outdoors)
  • Stamina for physically demanding tasks

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Scheduled hours will require flexibility, including holidays, weekends, or events, based on the needs of the department
