As an assistant media buyer, you work closely under a senior media buyer and may perform preliminary research to find the appropriate media platform, communicate with advertising agencies, negotiate with vendors, and prepare documents for clients. The qualifications for the position include at least a high school diploma or a GED certificate. Some employers prefer a bachelor’s degree in communications or a relevant field and previous experience in sales or marketing. You also need technical skills, including proficiency with standard Microsoft Office and email programs.
