JOB DESCRIPTION
Fox News Channel is looking for a dynamic, hardworking, and innovative Line Producer to join The Big Weekend Show. The Line Producer is a natural leader, a proven go-getter, and someone who can rise to the occasion under the stressful demands of television. The Line Producer has excellent editorial judgment, knows what makes a compelling segment, live shot, tease, and overall rundown, and must have breaking news experience both in and out of the control room.
This role is located fully onsite, and the schedule is Wednesday - Sunday.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Pitch and execute innovative ideas for each part of the show on a regular basis
  • Responsible for story placement, teases, graphics, writing, and all other editorial and production elements
  • Identifying compelling elements for stories
  • Monitor multiple sources for new developments on segments and keep the team informed
  • Time the show in the control room and communicate clearly and effectively with on-air hosts and the director
  • Communicate needs effectively with the Executive Producer, Senior Producer, Associate Producers, Booker/Researchers and Production Assistants
  • Oversee and rewrite copy, and produce segments
  • Be a key contributor to editorial planning
  • Help mentor and train new staff members

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with line producing and relevant control room experience in national news and top markets
  • Familiarity with iNews, DALET, VIZ, and an understanding of building program rundowns
  • Exceptional editorial skills; ability to recognize stories with high potential for compelling television
  • Strong knowledge of news, politics, and current events
  • Decisive and skilled management of a control room
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, be decisive, detail-oriented, and meet deadlines

This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
