Job description

Position Summary:

The Leasing Agent will be the primary point of contact for prospective tenants and a key representative of our properties. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple leasing activities simultaneously. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and eager to contribute to a growing property management team. This position offers a starting salary and uncapped commission.

Hours: Tuesday–Saturday or Wednesday–Saturday, 9 AM to 5 PM.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively engage prospects, schedule showings, and conduct unit tours with enthusiasm and professionalism.
  • Show available units and effectively highlight key selling points and amenities.
  • Work CRM and leasing platform daily to manage, track, and follow up with leads.
  • Review rentready pipeline to prelease upcoming units and maximize occupancy.
  • Submit applications, verify information, and ensure all leasing documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Coordinate with tenants to gather required documents for approval and movein.
  • Communicate market feedback and unitspecific observations to the leasing and property management team.
  • Attend HUD VASH events in person (mandatory) to support affordable housing initiatives and maintain relationships with partners.
  • Assist with lease renewals, rent collection, and general resident communication as needed.
  • Report maintenance issues and collaborate with operations to ensure timely resolution.
  • Qualifications:
  • 1+ year of leasing, sales, or customer service experience (real estate or property management preferred).
  • Familiarity with HUD, CHA, or VASH programs is a strong plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customerfirst mindset.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Nice to have: Proficiency with leasing software and CRM tools (e.g., AppFolio, Yardi, or similar)
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally between properties.
  • Knowledge of Southside Chicago neighborhoods and rental market.
