Job Overview

The Landscape Designer supports the design team in creating functional, visually appealing, and site-appropriate landscape plans for clients. This role is responsible for assisting in concept development, drafting, estimating, and preparing presentations under the guidance of a licensed landscape architect. The ideal candidate brings creativity, horticultural knowledge, and technical skill to support the successful execution of custom outdoor living environments.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist with site analysis, including site measurements, photography, and drone piloting

  • Produce accurate base plans, conceptual designs, planting plans, and construction drawings using CAD and/or hand drafting

  • Prepare 2D and 3D visualizations (renderings, sketches, models) to support design presentations

  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, construction, project managers) to align design with budget, schedule, and buildability

  • Source materials and develop plant palettes appropriate for the site and client preferences

  • Contribute to cost estimates, material take-offs, and design revisions

  • Attend client meetings, take notes, and participate in design discussions

  • Coordinate with vendors to confirm availability and suitability of materials

  • Coordinate with local and federal agencies to obtain permitting for work proposed

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Landscape Design, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field (degree preferred but not required with equivalent experience)

  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office (or equivalent)

  • Strong plant knowledge and interest in residential outdoor living spaces

  • Familiarity with construction materials, grading, drainage, and landscape systems

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Industry specific certifications such as CGIP or CNM are ideal.

  • Must possess a strong ability to multi-task, and exercise efficiencies in time management

  • Must possess superior interpersonal skills with clients and colleagues, and do so with excellent written and verbal communication

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites, as needed
