Job description

The Inventory & Production Control Coordinator supports inventory accuracy, production execution, and ERP transaction integrity through inventory control activities, production order coordination, and cross-functional communication. This position performs cycle counts, inventory transactions, production order monitoring, discrepancy investigation, and ERP transaction support to ensure efficient material flow, accurate system data, and timely production execution.
Reporting directly to the Inventory Control Specialist, this role serves as a key link between Inventory Control, Production, Planning, Procurement, Shipping, and Receiving to support inventory accuracy, production schedule execution, and operational performance.
The position is approximately 60% Inventory Control and 40% Production Control and supports both established processes and the continuous improvement of inventory and production control systems, procedures, and practices.

Authority & Scope

This position is an hourly, non-supervisory role and does not have authority for hiring, discipline, performance evaluations, compensation decisions, or personnel actions.
The Inventory & Production Control Coordinator performs inventory control and production control activities under the direction of the Inventory Control Specialist and supports the execution, maintenance, and continuous improvement of inventory and production control processes.
The role is expected to identify process improvement opportunities, assist in the development of standard work and procedures, and support initiatives that improve inventory accuracy, production visibility, ERP transaction integrity, and overall operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities and DutiesInventory Control (Approximately 60%)
  • Perform scheduled cycle counts in accordance with established procedures
  • Conduct recounts and verification counts as directed
  • Assist in investigating inventory discrepancies and root cause analysis
  • Support inventory reconciliation activities
  • Enter and process inventory-related transactions within the EPICOR ERP system
  • Process inventory transfers, location moves, and inventory adjustments as directed
  • Review inventory reports and identify discrepancies requiring investigation
  • Verify proper labeling, identification, and storage of materials
  • Assist with location audits and bin accuracy checks
Production Control (Approximately 40%)
  • Monitor production jobs and work orders within the ERP system
  • Verify production operations are completed and properly transacted
  • Identify and resolve ERP transaction issues affecting production order completion
  • Coordinate with Production, Planning, Procurement, and Inventory Control to support schedule adherence
  • Review production-related ERP transactions for completeness and accuracy
  • Troubleshoot ERP transactional issues and coordinate corrective actions
Reporting & Communication
  • Maintain inventory and production-related records, reports, and documentation
  • Monitor and communicate inventory and production exceptions
  • Coordinate with Shipping and Receiving to support timely material movement
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control and production execution
  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of inventory control and production control procedures, work instructions, and best practices
Qualifications
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems (EPICOR preferred)
  • Understanding of inventory control principles and production workflows
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory control, production coordination, materials management, manufacturing support, or related field
  • Manufacturing environment experience preferred
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
