Business area Mining is a global leading supplier of equipment and tools, parts, service, digital solutions and sustainability-driving technologies for the mining and construction industries. Applications include rock drilling, rock cutting, loading and hauling, tunneling and quarrying.
The Strategic Parts Forecasting and Parts Planning Manager will be a hybrid role requiring in the Denver, CO office or Smyrna, GA office.
Key Responsibilities:
The Strategic Parts Forecasting and Parts Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing all functions supporting the sales of spare parts for Load & Haul, Underground Drilling, Surface Drilling, and Rotary Drilling. This includes short- and long-term planning, strategic inventory management, lifecycle costing, logistics support, and optimizing inventory as part of net working capital. As a member of the Parts & Services (P&S) Management Team, this role contributes to both strategic direction and operational leadership of the U.S. organization.
This role ensures parts availability while minimizing stock levels and supporting overall aftermarket strategy and business performance.
  • Lead parts demand planning activities and implement processes to optimize inventory levels while ensuring supply availability
  • Provide lifecycle modeling and forecasting
  • Proactively identify and manage parts availability risks and gaps
  • Collaborate with customers, sales teams, portfolios, and supply chain specialists to develop forecasts for major components
  • Develop and communicate KPI reporting internally and externally
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of supply chain planning specialists
  • Support strategic planning aligned with Parts & Services (P&S) and broader Sandvik strategies
  • Drive forecasting and planning for new fleet introductions and customer growth
  • Support targets related to revenue growth, on-time delivery (OTD), inventory turnover, and working capital
  • Ensure compliance with Sandvik safety policies and applicable regulations

Main Responsibilities
Customer Support
  • Lead and develop supply chain planning specialists to deliver effective demand plans using customer and fleet data
  • Support sales teams with parts forecasting aligned to customer maintenance plans
  • Ensure adherence to Sandvik inventory policies before customer commitments
  • Identify and address inventory policy deviations with appropriate escalation and corrective actions
  • Support development and execution of customer inventory agreements (OTD, stock levels, consignment management)
  • Act as escalation point for parts-related queries within the assigned market
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to improve forecast accuracy and parts availability
  • Provide regular performance reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
  • Own key customer metrics, including OTD, inventory levels, and obsolete stock

Distributor Management
  • Organize and participate in quarterly service-level review meetings
  • Align with distributor stakeholders on quarterly objectives and initiatives
  • Drive execution and continuous improvement projects
  • Deliver performance dashboards for top distributors (OTD, fill rate, order fulfillment)

Demand & Inventory Planning
  • Monitor and adjust inventory levels for critical components based on fleet data
  • Drive continuous service level improvements with logistics and product portfolio teams
  • Support aftermarket parts availability and escalation processes
  • Assist with product launches, phase-outs, and new equipment introductions
  • Optimize parts distribution and logistics strategies
  • Coordinate stock movements across network locations
  • Manage warehouse operations, stock audits, and reporting
  • Oversee freight and delivery performance
  • Manage consignment stock across the U.S. market
  • Recommend and maintain optimal stock levels

Recommended Spare Parts & Cost Modeling
  • Maintain centralized Predictive Operating Cost (POC) models
  • Manage Recommended Spare Parts Lists (RSPL) repository
  • Validate RSPL and POC data with stakeholders to ensure alignment with KPIs and financial targets

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Provide training on supply planning tools and systems (e.g., Aurora, Power BI)
  • Communicate inventory strategies, plans, and performance across divisions
  • Coach teams on planning processes and RSPL usage
  • Develop executive-level summaries and reports
  • Contribute to strategic plans for services and capital equipment growth

Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)
  • Promote a strong safety culture aligned with Sandvik's EHS vision
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Identify and report hazards, unsafe behaviors, and incidents promptly
  • Take responsibility for personal and workplace safety

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors' degree or equivalent 5 years business experience with an additional 5 to 10 years experience directly in aftermarket or supply chain management, with a minimum of 7 years in a leadership role / people management role

  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office
  • Subject Matter Expertise in building analytical models

Location: Denver, CO or Smyrna, GA
Compensation Range: Salary for this role is expected to be in the range of $119,000 to $150,000, and is eligible for an additional bonus.
