Meet the team:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Immigration Specialist to join our People Operations team! The People team supports all of Latitude's people operations needs including benefits, recruitment, business partner support, training and development, HR operations, HR technology, and immigration. This individual will be responsible for managing and supporting the company's immigration-related needs and international travel program, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This individual will work closely with our employees, People team, and external legal counsel to facilitate the immigration process for our foreign national employees and prospective hires, as well as manage the logistics and compliance aspects of international travel.

What you'll do: 

Immigration:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all immigration-related inquiries from employees, managers, and People Operations team members
  • Assess employee immigration needs and determine appropriate visa options based on their qualifications and job requirements
  • Prepare and review immigration applications, petitions, and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness, working in collaboration with external legal counsel
  • Manage and track the progress of immigration cases, ensuring timely filing and adherence to deadlines
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel on complex immigration matters and ensure alignment with company policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate and organized employee immigration files, both physical and electronic
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in U.S. immigration laws and regulations and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain internal resources and training materials related to immigration policies and procedures
  • Assist with the onboarding process for foreign national employees, including providing guidance on visa requirements
  • Support the company's compliance efforts by conducting internal audits and ensuring adherence to immigration-related policies
  • Work closely within the People Operations team to ensure seamless integration of immigration processes with other People Operations functions, such as recruitment, compensation, and benefits
  • Tracking and auditing immigration expenses by employee and case

International Travel:

  • Partner with our Finance and Enterprise Services teams to manage the company's international travel and remote work program, including developing and implementing travel policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on international travel requirements, including work authorization and visa requirements
  • Monitor and track employee international travel, ensuring compliance with travel policies and reporting requirements
  • Stay up-to-date on travel advisories and alerts and communicate relevant information to employees
  • Assist with the development and implementation of travel risk management strategies

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; preferably Human Resources, Business Administration, Legal Studies or a similar field
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in immigration law or Human Resources, with a focus on immigration and international travel
  • Knowledge of U.S. immigration laws, regulations, and procedures, specifically as they relate to employment-based immigration
  • Experience preparing and filing various immigration applications and petitions (e.g., H-1B, O-1, TN, PERM)
  • Experience managing an international travel program
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working with external legal counsel on immigration matters
  • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and integrity
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations, identify problems, and develop effective solutions
