Position Summary:
The Orientation & Onboarding Specialist coordinates and facilitates the district's new employee orientation and onboarding process for certified and classified staff. This position ensures a welcoming experience for all new hires by delivering weekly orientation sessions, guiding employees through required employment processes, and communicating district policies, procedures, and expectations. This role requires strong presentation skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to translate complex policies into clear, practical guidance for diverse employee groups.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate weekly new hire orientation sessions for certified and classified employees.
- Present and explain district policies, procedures, compliance requirements, benefits information, and professional expectations.
- Provide role-specific guidance to special education paraprofessionals regarding job responsibilities and workplace protocols.
- Manage the onboarding process.
- Ensure completion and accuracy of required employment documentation, including background checks, employment verification (I-9), and other compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate onboarding records within HR systems and ensure proper documentation retention.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding onboarding processes and timelines in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare and maintain orientation materials, presentations, and onboarding resources.
- Maintain confidentiality of all employee and district information.
- Assist with additional Human Resources initiatives and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and clearly communicate policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Knowledge of Google Suite.
- Experience in a school district role such as administrative assistant or paraprofessional.
Compensation:Â
Fully Board Paid Medical, Dental, and Vision available.
Per the 2026-2027 Teaching Assistant Salary Schedule, the starting pay range is $19.48 - $23.57 and is based upon experience.
