JOB SUMMARY

Works as part of a team to provide individual on the job training, guidance, education, and supervision for Intellectual/Developmentally Disabled and/or other barriers to participants currently receiving Employment Path Services at Goodwill Industries in accordance with the mission of Goodwill Industries and all state regulations by performing the following duties. Will attend team meetings, create ISP plans, and assist participants with progressing towards their long-term employment goal.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct vocational assessments based on referral information.
• Develop goals and individual service plans for assigned participants receiving services.
• Will act as back-up VTC for other ETS staff, and participants receiving services.
• Maintain a timely and accurate case note system; case files; and record and generate reports, as required.
• Prepares and maintains written case records, reports, and forms, performs case follow-up and closing, and performs other administrative tasks as required in a timely manner.
• Oversee program file review for assigned participants that occur quarterly and to follow quality standards established by CARF and/or state regulations.
• Attend staff, ISP, or other Goodwill or referral agency meetings as required. Will be expected to work with clients (average 2 to 4 hrs. daily).
• Coordinate and directly supervise assigned ETS staff.
• Provide exemplary professional communications and interactions with funding counselors, care providers, other agencies, co-workers, store managers and staff.
• Provides consultation and support to other Goodwill staff on specific cases.
• Provides supervision and training for ETS staff (health, safety, rights, values, mission, medication administration, mandatory abuse, payroll, time.
• Complete monthly attendance, billing forms - FAB, SORB and DD.
• Provide problem solving, direct training, feedback and other services that will assist participants with barriers to employment.
• Provide on-site job support, training and observation for workers transitioning into competitive job market. Assist participants with necessary job support such as transportation to and from work timeliness, appearance and work/safety regulations.
• Ensures coverage according to each participant’s supervision requirements.
• Meet daily with store management staff, review store production goals and the Employment & Training Services participants goals to develop a schedule of tasks for participants to train on the day. Check in periodically throughout the workday to communicate production progress.
• Ensure participants are completing assigned tasks according to store expectations by physically demonstrating proper completion, providing additional training and creating various accommodations as appropriate.
• Ensures that participants and store employees are working in a safe and clean work environment.
• Facilitates and documents participant safety meetings one time each week in the retail stores. Assists with facilitating safety drills/walk-throughs when program participants are involved and assists LPSA’s with presenting safety material in a format that meets the learning styles of the program participants.
• Communicate health and safety issues/needs to E & T Program Manager. In the event of an emergency, the E & T Program Manager should be immediately contacted, and written procedures followed.
• Maintain good relationship with employers. Maintain necessary reports and documentation for participants’ files.
• Provides regular updates to referring agencies, other Goodwill staff, and supervisor.
• Meets with participants on a regular basis or 1:1 to provide employment counseling.
• Provides on-going sporadic, and/or 1:1 job assistance to participants at their community worksites.
• Negotiates with employers to implement accommodations at the worksite.
• Conducts job task analysis for newly created employment opportunities in the community.
• Maintains participant contact records, reports, and case notes.
• Maintains accurate employer contact records.
• Participates in training and educational opportunities to enhance skills.
• Attends regular department meetings. Attends other meetings as necessary.
• Follow written protocols, ISP’s, CDP’s and safety plans for participants served.
• Gather input from participants served yearly by completing Person Centered Information packets. Complete case notes, Incident Reports, and daily attendance in a timely manner.
• Follow all Oregon Administrative Rules and CARF guidelines by following all procedures, proper documentation and attending all necessary trainings.
• Accurately dispenses and documents medication administration in accordance with the Medication Administration Policy and Procedures as per med error reports. Medication training must be provided prior to administering any medication to a participant.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, recommending for hire, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing and resolving complaints.

JOB EXPECTATIONS

• Proficiency in case management, resource coordination skills, report writing and interviewing, staff training and development and positive active leadership.
• Comply with all agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet GILSCC, CARF, and other regulatory standards.

• Car Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence including incident/accident reports and case notes at least weekly.
• Must be able to maintain effective, professional interactions with co-workers, referral agency personnel, customers and participants at all times.
• Must be able to pass an Oregon Department of Human Services criminal background check and must be able to pass a UA. These are non-negotiable. Employee must immediately inform supervisor of any arrests and/or convictions that occur while employed at Goodwill.
• Possession of a valid Oregon Driver license and insurable driving record required. Daily travel to various worksites is an essential function of the job and may occasionally be required to transport participants. Loss of driver license must be immediately reported to supervisor.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to calculate funding needs of participants.
• Ability to understand basic budgeting principles and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of email, database, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
• Must exhibit a high level of integrity and business ethics.
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills through command of the English language in order to work with customers and employees.
• Must be able to function independently in a work setting.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Have no record or disclosure of criminal conviction that indicates a tendency towards theft, violence, dishonesty, deceit, drug manufacture of sale, moral turpitude or predatory behavior.
• Must provide proof of identification and eligibility to work in the United States.

EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Social Work, Psychology, or Human Services from four-year college or university; Three years directly related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and/or other experience including two years in a supervisory position with a working knowledge of developmental disabilities, mental health problems and diagnoses required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Maintain current FA/CPR, OIS, and Mandatory Abuse certification as well as attend a minimum of 12 hours of In-Service training per year.

WORK ENVIRONMENT  

Work is performed indoors primarily with occasional work performed outside and exposed to environmental conditions. May work indoors in either a warehouse or store setting. The environment is heated or may be air conditioned. May be exposed to dust if working in a warehouse setting. Requires a high level of adaptability and flexibility. Driving hazards as a driver of company and/or personal vehicle. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

WORK HOURS

This job can typically be done within a Monday through Friday schedule. However, based on events going on there may be times when evening and weekend work is required with little or no notice.
