MEMBERSHIP Assistant Front Desk Manager

The YMCA - West is looking for a energetic, positive and creative sales minded manager to assist the Front Desk Manager in providing direction and coordination of the Membership Service Department.

The ideal candidate for this job is outgoing and is excited and enthusiastic about selling an experience they believe in, to an audience of all ages and fitness levels. In addition, they are responsible for engaging with members, member retention, sales growth, facility safety and oversees all desk service operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Creates a supportive, uplifting community environment.
  • Expands membership through high quality member engagement and sales initiatives with a focus on community needs in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
  • Increases member retention by demonstrating and training others to provide personalized member experiences and to build positive relationships with and among members, staff, volunteers and/or guests.
  • Demonstrates and trains others to provide consistent excellence in sales presentations, closing techniques, telephone and in-person service, member engagement.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, manages, provides guidance to, develops, coaches, schedules and directs employees and volunteers as needed.
  • Reviews and evaluates employee and volunteer performance.
  • Acts as a positive role model while implementing YMCA healthy living policies, character development and the four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • One to two years customer service experience required.
  • One to two years supervisory experience required.
  • At least one year related experience in administration and providing guidance to employees and/or volunteers is preferred.
  • Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining an attention to detail and timeliness.
