PARKS & RECREATION
PART TIME SKILLED CLERK
SALARY $16.13 PER HOUR
This is a part-time position with no benefits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Handle phone calls, address caller's needs or direct calls to appropriate contact.
  • Effectively schedule and coordinate tours between Management and Clients.
  • Assist Management when needed by providing engaging facility tours, booking rentals and collecting rental payments.
  • Responsible for performing essential clerical tasks, including but not limited to filing, shredding, and maintaining organized records.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and a strong commitment to collaboration, with a willingness to work within the department and, when necessary, extend support to initiatives outside the department.
  • Assist with planning special events, programs and activities for all ages, while coordinating with other BPRD divisions.
  • Provide excellent communication skills to deliver quality customer service at all times by providing pertinent information both internally and externally
  • Process and handle community and participant feedback from programs.
  • Conduct and maintain registrations through a digital software program, which includes, but not limited to cancellations, refunds and special events and program communication.
  • Assist with the oversight of facility staff in the setup, implementation and completion of events and programs.
  • Make recommendations for purchases of equipment and supplies as well as procure supplies, materials, and equipment for recreational programs.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in parks and recreation and administrative support roles.

Special Requirements:
  • Must have a valid Tennessee Driver's License.
  • Must successfully pass a background and driver's license check, and a physical exam including drug screen prior to employment.
  • May work nights and weekends as needed.
