Job description

Kraemer North America is currently looking for a Field Engineer to join our team in our Mountain West Region - WA area. As a Field Engineer, you will gain hands on experience in the heavy civil construction industry, along with the opportunity to work on diverse projects. Our current search is centered on finding candidates that are self-motivated, have a strong work ethic, and are looking for that next step in their career development.

The Field Engineer will be responsible for ensuring Kraemer crews are planning their work by following the Work Activity Plan process while adhering to and promoting Kraemer's culture of QUALITY, SAFETY, EXCELLENCE. Ensure crews have all information needed and inspect work as it is installed and closely monitor/ assist field operations. Keep track of materials and work performed on the project and assist with minor sub-contractor quality control and quantities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a leader helping to oversee and implement Kraemer's Safety Program to ensure the safe execution of construction projects and protection of Kraemer personnel
  • Ensure Quality is built into all Kraemer construction operations through the successful execution of planning, project document control, including submittals, RFIs and compliance records, and thorough field quality control inspections
  • Assist with overall construction management operations coordinating and scheduling subcontractors, suppliers, and/or Kraemer self perform work, providing construction oversight, recognizing and responding to construction issues, and assisting with engineering design and implementation
  • Actively participate with ensuring the financial health of the project by measuring and tracking quantities, understanding and recording project expenditures, and preparing and analyzing project cost reports, then taking actionable steps to ensure continued success.
  • Assist foremen and superintendents with various construction activities layout of construction elements, providing elevation and grade control, crew oversight and coordination, and troubleshooting
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with project owners, inspectors and stakeholders by upholding Kraemer's Core Values. Quickly communicate and respond to issues in a manner that provides the best outcome for the project
  • Routinely attend Kraemer University courses to develop skills and knowledge in other core competencies necessary for career development and growth

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar
  • Previous experience in heavy civil preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Efficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Team player with the ability to work independently
  • Passion for safety and construction
  • Previous experience working with construction software
  • Previous experience working with AGTEK/Auto CAD preferred

Hiring Range: $80,000 - $100,000. Base salary is dependent on multiple factors: education, experience, skills, market rates, internal equity and/or location.
