Position Summary:

Ajax/CECO/Erie Press is seeking a Field Service Engineer Apprentice to assist an experienced technician with troubleshooting, assembly, and assist operations on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems of presses. The ideal candidate will be skilled in mechanical assembly and understand hydraulic and electrical controls. Should also be proficient in reading blueprints and schematics. The candidate will support the assembly floor during builds when not performing field service duties.

Job Duties:

- Domestic and international travel from 40%-60% of work year, trips can be 2 to 4 weeks or longer, on short notice, by utilizing the most efficient modes of various commercial transportation - including air travel, as necessary.

- Travel to installation, rebuilds, and service sites as required.

- Will be training with experienced Service Techs and assemblers in installation, start-up, operation, customer acceptance, installation-operator-maintenance training, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, software components, and systems for all products.

- Assist in piping, tube fitting, wiring, and welding in building equipment.

- Able to read and interpret all required drawings and schematics.

- Gain through knowledge of Rexroth, Atos, Rockwell, and Allen Bradley pump controls and valving.

- Allocates work time according to the priority of job assignments and accepts verbal and written instructions.

- Assist in the tearing down, dismantling, tagging, and protecting of parts and materials, as required.

Rig and handle materials, large and small, with lift trucks, jib, and overhead cranes, and other handling devices in the build and customer facilities

What you need to be successful:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Graduating from a vocational program within 6 months or recent high school graduate with familiarity with mechanical repair.

- Valid Driver’s License with excellent driving record.

- Eligible for a valid U.S. Passport and qualifies for foreign visas as required.
