Job description

American Engineering seeking for an experience pipelayer to join our team!
Job Description: Safely and accurately install various sizes and types of utility piping and structures in many different soil conditions and various depths.
Responsibilities and requirements include but not limited to:
  • Communicate constantly with excavator operator to accurately dig and compact trench beneath pipe. Monitor accuracy of trench elevations continously.
  • Assist excavator in the search and verification of existing utilities.
  • Set and chuck piping with proper slope.
  • Ensure pipe is properly connected (home) with other pipes.
  • Properly compact trench around pipe so pipes do not shift in the future.
  • Properly and tightly fasten pipes with restraints as required.
  • Ensure pipes are not leaking.
  • Check installations routinely with laser and lamping.
  • Ensure ground is at proper elevation and density for setting structures.
  • Ensure structures are set at proper elevation location with the use of level and/or laser.
  • Understanding of proper utility pipe installation.
  • Shoveling of dirt and rock for proper pipe bedding.
  • Setting and checking of pipe laser.
  • Mud work for structures.
