The Opportunity
Hitachi Energy is seeking a Real Estate Facilities, Project, CAPEX Manager for our Raleigh, North Carolina location. This role is responsible for leading day-to-day facility operations and Integrated Facility Management (IFM) activities that support a safe, efficient, sustainable, and productive workplace. The position serves as the primary site contact for facility-related operations, vendor management, maintenance oversight, workplace services, budgeting, and stakeholder support.
In addition to core facility management responsibilities, the Facility Manager will support capital improvement and infrastructure projects, helping coordinate scope, schedule, budget, contractor performance, and project execution.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to both operational excellence and long-term facility improvement initiatives that support Hitachi Energy's business growth and manufacturing operations.
How You'll Make an Impact
Facility Operations & Workplace Management
Lead day-to-day facility operations for the Raleigh site, ensuring a safe, reliable, and productive work
environment.
Serve as the primary facility management point of contact for site leadership, employees, service providers, and business stakeholders.
Manage and direct third-party service providers and ensure contractual service levels, quality standards, and performance expectations are achieved.
Support implementation and continuous improvement of Integrated Facility Management (IFM) standards, processes, and reporting.
Conduct facility inspections and assessments to identify risks, maintenance needs, and opportunities for improvement.
Support annual operating budget development, forecasting, and expense management activities.
Promote healthy, safe, accessible, and sustainable workplace environments while ensuring compliance with applicable internal and external requirements.
Capital Project & Facility Improvement Support
Support planning and execution of facility-related capital projects, including renovations, infrastructure improvements, workspace modifications, and building system upgrades.
Assist in developing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and stakeholder requirements.
Coordinate activities with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and internal teams throughout project delivery.
Monitor project progress, budget performance, quality standards, and schedule adherence.
Participate in construction reviews, site inspections, and punch-list activities to ensure successful project outcomes.
Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining compliance with company safety and construction standards.
Communicate project status, milestones, and key decisions to stakeholders and site leadership.
Your Background
Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Real Estate, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in facility management, building operations, maintenance management, corporate real estate, project management, or related disciplines.
Demonstrated experience managing facility service providers, contractors, and operational budgets.
Knowledge of building systems, facility maintenance practices, and workplace operations.
Experience supporting construction, renovation, infrastructure, or capital improvement projects.
Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, invoice management, and cost control.
Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with facility management, project management, work order, or corporate real estate systems preferred
Experience in corporate headquarters preferred
Professional certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional
(FMP), or Project Management Professional (PMP) are preferred.
Role will be onsite in Raleigh, NC
20-30% southeast travel
