Position Overviewย 

We are looking for a versatile, detail-oriented, and technically sharpย Assistant Editorย to join our post-production team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our editing workflows, supporting our senior editors, directors, and post-production supervisors from ingest to final delivery.ย 

Youย possessย a deep understanding of post-production pipelines, stellar organizational skills, and a passion for storytelling. Whether you are managing complex proxy workflows, prepping timelines, or pulling selects for fast-paced social and commercial projects, you thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.ย 

Key Responsibilitiesย 

  • Project Setup & Ingest:ย Manage media offloading, verify checksums, organize project directories, and transcode footage toย establishedย post-production specs.ย 
  • Timeline & Asset Management:ย Build andย maintainย organized NLE project files (Premiere Pro / DaVinci Resolve), manage sync maps, group multi-cam clips, and archive completed projects.ย 
  • Post-Production Support:ย Support the post-production workflow by building and refining rough cuts, executing revisions, completing brand packagingย including captions and brand checks,ย andย maintainingย well-organized project files and assets for handovers.ย 
  • Finishing & Delivery Prep: Assist in locking cuts, prepping audio packages for mix (OMF/AAF), colour grading turnovers, and exporting multi-platform deliverables according to strict technical spec sheets.ย 
  • Workflow Optimization:ย Maintainย and troubleshoot shared storage systems (NAS/SAN), proxy pipelines,ย media transfers,ย backups,ย and asset management systems to ensure smooth daily operations.ย 
  • Generative AI (Bonus Skill):ย Familiarity with Generative AI tools and workflows for image and video generation, with the ability to support creative and post-production needs using AI-generated assets whenย required.ย 

Qualifications & Requirementsย 

  • Location:ย Must currentlyย resideย in Toronto (or the Greater Toronto Area) or be fully willing to commute to the office on-site asย requiredย for collaborative editing days.ย 
  • Experience:ย 2+ years of professional experience as an Assistant Editor or Post-Production Coordinator within a commercial production house, digital agency, or broadcast environment.ย 
  • Technical Proficiency:ย Advanced command of Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve; working knowledge of After Effects is a strong plus.ย 
  • Pipeline Knowledge: Deep familiarity with modern codecs, frame rates, colour spaces, proxy workflows, and audio/video delivery specs for digital, social, and broadcast platforms.ย 
  • Organization:ย Exceptional attention to detail with proven ability to multitask, manage tight turnarounds, andย maintainย file hygiene under pressure.ย 
  • Communication:ย Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, proactiveย attitudeย and a willingness to learn from senior creative staff.ย
