Job description

Stoel Rives LLPhas an immediate opening for ane-Discovery Project Manager. This is a key consultative and client service team member. This position is responsible for the overall eDiscovery management of a case, from consulting on best collection practices all the way through production of documents. The Project Manager works hand in hand with the legal case team to provide the best service and support to our end clients. They have a strong knowledge of the electronic discovery records model (EDRM), electronically stored information (ESI) and litigation review platforms, including use of Technology Assisted Review, Gen LLM and RAG.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As a subject matter expert for e-discovery, the Project Manager provides guidance and general oversight for clients during the entire e-discovery life cycle.

  • The Project Manager plans, coordinates, executes, and delivers electronic discovery projects, facilitates communication and collaboration between and among clients and their respective resources, including technology staff, legal case teams, vendors, outside counsel legal teams, and support staff

  • Consults and coordinates the collection, management, review, processing, and/or production of ESI, and provides clients with the highest level of daily status, data integrity, and service quality.

  • Gathers, documents, and coordinates project specifications from the client and then works with the eDiscovery Project Analyst and/or vendor to ensure requirements and timelines are understood.

  • Identifies and manages issues and risks as appropriate.

  • Utilizes critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to communicate cost effective solutions to clients.

  • Performs quality control and quality assurance of project data prior to client delivery.

  • Documents project expectations with the formal statements of work along with project specifications and design documentation.

  • Possess a strong working knowledge of Technology Assisted Review and Gen AI.

  • Adept at absorbing information, critically analyzing it, preparing summary reports, and presenting the same to internal and external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES

Technical Knowledge

Extensive knowledge of the concepts, principles, management, and processing of ESI as they relate to legal matters, including the use of various ESI management and review tools and applications. Ability to apply system analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications. Advanced knowledge of eDiscovery review platforms, such as Concordance and Relativity.

Physical/Mental Capabilities

Ability to type on a computer keyboard in a sitting position; ability to operate telephone, photocopy, fax, and other office equipment. Requires prolonged sitting, occasional standing, bending and lifting. Must have ability to read and comprehend hand written and typed notes or correspondence. Must have ability to be resourceful in seeking out information, anticipating consequences, and making sound judgments and decisions; ability to effectively prioritize workload; ability to analyze, initiate action, and take responsibility for outcome.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree required, or a minimum of 5-7 years' experience in the litigation support/legal industry. Must have 2-3 years of Project Management experience with on-time deliverables and strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail. PMP Certification preferred.

NORMAL WORK HOURS

This position is exempt and normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time. The candidate who fills this position is expected to work the number of hours necessary to accomplish assigned responsibilities.

The pay range for this position is $84,000 - $184,000; however, the base compensation presented to a candidate may vary based on skills and overall experience. This salary range is based on market location.
