Job description

Divisional Controller

Growing government contractor in Reston, VA seeks a Divisional Controller with 10 plus years of experience. This person will be responsible for reporting and financial management for this division of a large international company. SAP experience a plus but not required. Ideal candidate will have similar experience from another government contractor. Hybrid work environment. Salary around 175k plus bonus.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise outsourced and shared service bookkeeping members
  • Perform daily accounting tasks as needed
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual account closings. Manage upload in group ERP
  • Manage working capital and account receivable/payable, including customer billing
  • Assist with payroll preparation and benefits management
  • Support VP Finance in developing an effective control environment
  • Assist with the development of the annual budget as well as periodic forecasts
  • When required, manage project and product cost accounting processes and systems
  • Produce accurate and timely internal financial statements by department
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset register
  • Prepare and file Business Property Tax and Sales Tax returns
  • Identify problems and areas for improvement and propose solutions to senior management
  • Support bid and Proposal efforts and project reviews
  • Master and make improvements to ERP, accounting and internal management systems
  • Assist with external audit firms and tax schedule preparation
