Role Summary: Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Distribution Center Manager is responsible for the efficient operations of the distribution center in accordance with the company's policy and procedures, including operational efficiency, facilities management, internal and external customer service, and management/development of staff. The Distribution Center Manager ensures excellent service to all stakeholders by ensuring the on-time, complete and accurate delivery of products. This is a hands-on position, ideal for someone who is self-directed, a strong collaborator, critical problem solver, and who enjoys owning a wide breadth of responsibilities. Supervisors and Team Leaders report directly to this position.
Exciting work you will do:
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Distribution Center Manager will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
  • As a leader, model Service Excellence with your team: Provide leadership, direction, growth, and mentoring; adhere to company values and foster a culture of belonging and recognition; invest in leadership and self-growth through continuous improvement, learning, and development.
  • Oversee receiving, physical inventory, and shipment of products.
  • Manage internal and external customer requirements for the delivery of products.
  • Manage and direct performance and outcomes of staff, communicating performance expectations and holding staff accountable.
  • Interview, hire, schedule, assign work to, and evaluate work performance of staff directly supervised.
  • Oversee facilities maintenance and upkeep.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate metrics and reporting to management.
  • Provide forecasting requirements for staffing and equipment.
  • Demonstrate leadership of company Quality and Service Excellence initiatives.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness and Service Excellence by developing processes, leading teams, enabling a highly motivated work environment, and creating innovative approaches for improvement.

What you'll need:
  • Work Experience: 5 years' experience working in a distribution or warehouse with 3 years' experience in distribution/warehouse supervision, lead or management role.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Analytics/Computer Skills: Prior experience with Microsoft Office; proficiency with MS Excel.
  • Organization Skills: Excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed.
  • Cross-functional Skills: Works well cross-functionally; provides excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization; excellent negotiating skills; strong presentation skills; strong interpersonal and customer service skills; high discretion with sensitive and confidential information.

  • Physical, Mental and Visual Skills: Ability to see/sit/stand/walk/talk/hear; ability to lift/move/carry up to 50 lbs; ability to stand for 8 hours a day; ability to climb stairs and step ladders, bend, stoop, crouch, and kneel.
  • Physical Environment: Exposure to temperature conditions prevalent at the time; noise level consistent with that of a distribution center.
