We are seeking a Distribution Center Manager that will serve as the senior operational leader for the Mexico, Missouri Distribution Center and is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and performance of all distribution operations. Reporting directly to the Director of Distribution & Logistics, this role translates company strategy into operational execution by leading all Distribution Center functions, including Inbound, Outbound, Returns, Inventory Control, labor planning, and facility operations. As the second-in-command for the Distribution Center, the Manager is accountable for operational excellence, customer service, inventory integrity, safety, financial performance, and employee engagement. This position partners closely with corporate leadership to ensure the Distribution Center consistently delivers exceptional service while supporting the Company's strategic initiatives and growth objectives.

KEY LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Distribution Center Leadership

  • Serve as the senior operational leader responsible for the day-to-day management of the Distribution Center.
  • Execute strategic initiatives established by the Director of Distribution & Logistics and Corporate Leadership.
  • Provide leadership across all operational departments to ensure alignment with Company objectives.
  • Act on behalf of the Director during planned and unplanned absences, ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Operational Excellence

  • Lead operational reviews utilizing performance metrics to identify trends, improve processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide overall leadership for all Distribution Center operations, including inbound operations, outbound operations, returns processing, inventory control
  • Responsible for ensuring:
  • Customer service expectations are consistently achieved.
  • Productivity and quality standards meet or exceed established goals.
  • Inventory accuracy is maintained across all warehouse locations.
  • Operational resources are aligned with business demands.
  • Daily, weekly, and seasonal priorities are successfully executed.
  • Establish, monitor, and achieve key performance indicators including productivity, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, on-time shipping, processing cycle time, labor efficiency, cost per unit, customer service levels.

People Leadership

  • Lead and develop a high-performing leadership team that supports the Company's culture and operational objectives.
  • Coaching and developing supervisors and department leaders.
  • Driving employee engagement and retention.
  • Managing performance, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Leading recruitment efforts for Distribution Center leadership and hourly associates.
  • Ensuring consistent execution of performance management processes.
  • Building a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, respect, and continuous learning.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead initiatives that improve operational performance while reducing cost and increasing customer satisfaction.
  • Utilizing operational data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Simplifying processes and eliminating waste.
  • Improving workflow, throughput, and labor utilization.
  • Supporting implementation of new technologies, systems, and operational enhancements.
  • Leading change management initiatives throughout the facility.

Safety, Compliance & Facility Operations

  • Champion a safety-first culture throughout the Distribution Center.
  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and Company safety standards.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Reducing workplace incidents through coaching, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Supporting facility maintenance and operational readiness.
  • Protecting Company assets through effective inventory controls and loss prevention practices.

Financial & Business Leadership

  • Partner with the Director of Distribution & Logistics to achieve operational and financial objectives.
  • Managing labor resources to support operational efficiency.
  • Supporting annual operating budgets and expense management.
  • Monitoring operating costs while maintaining service standards.
  • Preparing operational reports and presenting performance results to leadership.
  • Partnering with Finance, Planning, Merchandising, Customer Service, Human Resources, and Technology to achieve Company objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years progressive distribution center leadership experience.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing multiple supervisors and large hourly workforces.
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-functional distribution center operations.
  • Experience managing productivity, inventory accuracy, quality, labor planning, and customer service performance.
  • Experience leading operational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong financial acumen, including labor planning, budgeting, and operational cost management.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (Made4Net preferred), ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Shopify, Navar, and reporting tools.
