The (USA) Director, Supply Chain Management leads the strategic direction and execution of supply chain operations to optimize product flow from suppliers to stores, ensuring alignment with sales, inventory, and profitability goals. This role drives continuous improvement initiatives, manages key external partnerships, and oversees performance metrics to enhance service levels and cost efficiencies. The position requires strong leadership in developing talent, fostering collaboration across stakeholders, and implementing innovative solutions that support business objectives while maintaining high standards of integrity and operational excellence.
About the team:
The Transportation Operations team ensures accurate and timely delivery of Walmart orders by managing outbound product movement from fulfillment centers through sort centers to delivery networks. Collaborating with internal operations and external transportation providers, the team drives service excellence and network efficiency across middle-mile and final-mile logistics. Focused on optimizing supply chain strategy, supplier performance, and carrier management, the team fosters seamless customer delivery experiences while continuously improving operational processes and partnerships to support Walmart’s commitment to reliable and efficient supply chain execution.
What you'll do:
  • Direct supply chain flow from supplier to store to optimize sales instock and profitability metrics.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve order exceptions, disruptions, and constraints impacting execution.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance product flow, reduce waste, and increase cost efficiency.
  • Oversee external partner relationships, ensuring compliance with company standards and performance expectations.
  • Develop and implement business strategies aligned with customer needs and operational goals.
  • Foster talent development through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Promote integrity, ethical standards, and a culture of accountability across teams.
