Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Admissions provides operational leadership and support for the College's admissions functions, advancing enrollment growth, student access, and student success. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, this position assists in coordinating admissions operations and recruitment efforts within a one-stop enrollment environment, ensuring prospective and incoming students receive responsive, high-quality service from initial inquiry through enrollment.
This position requires a collaborative, student-centered professional with strong organizational, leadership, and analytical skills. The Assistant Director supports enrollment initiatives, daily operations, and uses data to improve processes and outcomes, and works with campus partners to enhance the student experience and support enrollment, persistence, and completion goals.
Essential functions:
Enrollment Leadership & Strategy - 60%
• Partner with the Director of Admissions to oversee admissions operations for new, returning, transfer, and prospective students.
• Develop, implement, and assess admissions and recruitment strategies designed to increase enrollment and contribute to institutional retention and completion goals.
• Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to support institutional enrollment goals and student success initiatives.
• Analyze enrollment trends and data to identify opportunities for process improvement and growth.
• Promote a "no wrong door" service philosophy where student issues are resolved efficiently, accurately, and with accountability.
• Provide operational support and leadership at campus locations as needed to ensure timely application processing, document review, inquiry response, and resolution of enrollment-related issues.
Technology & Systems Management - 15%
• Serve as a back-up administrator for admissions-related technologies, including the College's CRM, analytics platforms, and student communication systems.
• Coordinate the configuration, testing, and continuous improvement of admissions-related systems, workflows, and functionality in collaboration with the CRM Coordinator and Information Technology.
• Develop and maintain automated workflows and communication campaigns to improve student engagement and operational efficiency.
• Provide staff training and ongoing support in the effective use of enrollment technologies and data systems.
Team Leadership & Development - 10%
• Ensure consistency across all campuses in events, training, and process.
• Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, collaboration, and student-centered service.
• Work with director on regular departmental evaluations to ensure compliance with institutional and state policies and procedures.
• Work with CRM Coordinator to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Student Services & Recruitment - 10%
• Coordinate and oversee student placement testing and testing center operations.
• Plan, promote, track data and support recruitment activities and events, including on-campus, off-campus, and virtual experiences.
• Monitor that all communication with prospective students is completed in a timely, accurate, and effective manner in compliance with WGTC communication planning.
• Support initiatives that create a seamless enrollment experience from inquiry through registration.
Other Duties - 5%
• Other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
• Knowledge of admissions requirements, admission testing, and TCSG policies and procedures.
• Proficiency with student information systems (Banner preferred), CRM systems, and enrollment technology.
• Knowledge of recruitment strategies, student outreach, and enrollment services operations. To include: planning, promoting, implementing and tracking outcomes of all events.
• Ability to support placement testing operations, automated processes, and data reporting.
• Experience developing staff training and supporting team development.
• Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple student communication channels, including phone, text, email, and written correspondence.
• Student-centered service orientation with commitment to student success.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
• Two (2) years of related experience in higher education, admissions, enrollment services, or a related area.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in a related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a post-secondary institution.
• Experience in a supervisory or lead role supporting staff development and training.
• Experience with TCSG admissions processes, Banner, CRM systems, data analytics, and recruitment initiatives.
• Experience working in a one-stop or integrated enrollment services model.
• Working knowledge of the community and service delivery area.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment and technology, and requires business attire and professionalism. The position requires regular interaction with students, employees, and external stakeholders.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Applicants will be expected to work Mon-Fri. This position may occasionally require extended hours, evening events, or weekend work to support recruitment, enrollment, and student services activities.
Travel
Travel to other campus locations is required. Occasional overnight travel may be necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
