Job Summary

The Wound Care Nurse / Quality Assurance Nurse (RN) oversees the facility’s wound care program while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role promotes high clinical standards, staff education, and continuous quality improvement.

Wound Care Nurse Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary Wound Care Nurse for the facility
  • Perform wound assessments, staging, measurements, and documentation
  • Develop individualized wound care plans and provide treatments per provider orders
  • Conduct routine wound rounds and monitor healing progress
  • Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members on wound management
  • Educate nursing staff on wound prevention, skin integrity, and proper dressing techniques
  • Track and analyze wound data, trends, and outcomes
  • Support pressure injury prevention programs
  • Ensure all wound care documentation meets regulatory requirements
Quality Assurance Nurse Responsibilities
  • Monitor and evaluate nursing services to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Conduct audits, reviews, and quality checks
  • Assist in developing and updating nursing policies and procedures
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and lead corrective action plans
