Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the overall clinical operations of the community to ensure residents receive compassionate, high-quality, and individualized care.
This role partners closely with the Director of Nursing / Health & Wellness Director to oversee resident wellness, clinical compliance, medication management, staff support, and day-to-day nursing operations while helping maintain a positive and resident-focused environment.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on clinical leader who thrives in a fast-paced senior living environment and is passionate about mentoring staff, supporting residents, and maintaining high standards of care.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with oversight of daily clinical operations and resident care services
  • Support resident assessments, care plans, and wellness monitoring
  • Assist with medication management and clinical documentation processes
  • Help supervise, mentor, and support caregiving and medication staff
  • Monitor resident condition changes and communicate appropriately with physicians and families
  • Support staffing, scheduling, onboarding, and training efforts
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, company policies, and clinical standards
  • Assist with survey readiness and quality assurance initiatives
  • Promote resident dignity, safety, independence, and quality of life
  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Director and department leaders

Qualifications
  • Active LPN/LVN or RN license in good standing
  • Minimum 1-2 years of nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Assisted living, memory care, or long-term care experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of resident care, medication management, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Compassionate and resident-focused approach to care
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
