Assistant Retail Store Manager

JOB PURPOSE:TO DELIVER ON THE MISSION OF WILCO BY PROFITABLY PROVIDING SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

JOB SUMMARY:Assist in profitably leading and managing a retail store location, including sales and merchandising, inventory, facility image, personnel, and planning. Act as Manager on Duty as assigned.

REPORTS TO:Retail Store Manager

SUPERVISES:Front-End Department Manager | Lead Warehouser | Warehouse Team | Receiving Team


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in managing store personnel, including staff selection, training, mentoring, coaching, and evaluating employees.
  • Act as Manager on Duty when the store manager is out.
  • Ensure customer service using established retail customer service standards.
  • Manage and maintain store facilities and location equipment in accordance with established retail image standards.
  • Direct location merchandise management, including receiving, stocking, merchandising, and assembling of product, utilizing established procedures.
  • Lead and participate in regular and special meetings.
  • Open and/or close farm store as assigned.
  • Participate in special project work when requested.
SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING
  • Knowledge of management, supervision practices, principles, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of industry and support of Wilco core values.
  • Skill to operate computer systems and automated office machines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to customers and staff.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers and co-workers.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
  • 3 years of retail experience.
  • College degree or equivalent experience.
