Your Impact

The Cultivator is responsible for overseeing the success of our cultivation operations, focusing on the propagation, care, maintenance, and health of all cannabis plants.

What You'll Do (Personnel Duties, Authority, and Responsibilities)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other responsibilities and projects may be assigned for the overall benefit of the organization.

  • Cloning:
    • Cuttings from mother plants are taken using proper techniques to ensure healthy clones.
    • Preparing cloning mediums and maintaining optimal humidity and temperature in the cloning environment.
    • Monitoring clone health, including checking for root development, disease, and pests.
    • Transplanting rooted clones into larger containers.
    • Preparing nutrient mix for plants to assist with plant growth.
    • Cataloging and analyzing each individual strain from clone to flower to harvesting.
    • Adhering to facility-specific growing protocols.
  • Transplanting:
    • Transplanting vegetative plants into larger pots as needed.
    • Preparing soil mixes and ensuring proper drainage.
    • Handling plants carefully to minimize stress during transplanting.
  • Plant Maintenance:
    • Pruning and trimming plants to promote healthy growth and maximize yield.
    • Defoliating plants as needed to improve airflow and light penetration.
    • Identifying and addressing plant deficiencies and pest/disease issues.
    • Applying nutrients and supplements according to established protocols.
  • Watering:
    • Watering plants manually or using automated systems, ensures proper hydration without overwatering.
    • Monitoring soil moisture levels and adjusting watering schedules as needed.
    • Mixing nutrient solutions and applying them according to established protocols.
  • Harvesting:
    • Assist with the harvesting process, including cutting down plants, trimming, and bucking.
    • Follow established procedures for handling and processing harvested cannabis.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the harvest area.
    • Account for each by-product type processed off the flower; adding stems and fan leaves to waste for proper tracking.
  • General:
    • Ensure all assigned tasks are completed before leaving for the day unless otherwise authorized by their supervisor.
    • Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) for all operations, ensuring adherence to company and regulatory compliance.
    • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
    • Following all safety protocols and regulations.
    • Keeping accurate records of plant growth, treatments, and other relevant data.
    • Assisting with other cultivation tasks as needed.
    • Adhere to local and state laws and regulations related to cannabis production.
