Job description

Gates Hudson is seeking an Assistant Property Manager - Tax Credit to support the operational, financial, and resident-facing functions of one of our multifamily communities. This role partners closely with the Property Manager to ensure policy compliance, financial accuracy, team supervision, and a high-quality resident experience.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and ready to take ownership of both administrative and operational responsibilities.
What You'll Do
Operations & Team Support
  • Support day-to-day property operations in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
  • Supervise and train onsite staff as directed
  • Conduct move-in and move-out inspections
  • Ensure consistent policy implementation

Resident Relations & Retention
  • Address resident questions, concerns, and escalations in a timely and professional manner
  • Review notices to vacate and support retention efforts
  • Welcome prospects, conduct tours, and handle leasing paperwork as needed

Financial Administration
  • Assist with preparation of the annual budget and monitor expenses throughout the year
  • Process, approve, and submit invoices for payment
  • Maintain and reconcile petty cash
  • Track monthly variances and prepare narratives

Vendor & Contractor Coordination
  • Communicate with vendors regarding scheduling, billing, COIs, and performance
  • Ensure use of approved vendors and adherence to budget guidelines

Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Work weekends as needed
What We're Looking For
Required
  • ***** Tax Credit experience******
  • Two or more years of experience in property management, leasing, or related multifamily housing roles
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Working knowledge of Fair Housing, ADA, FCRA, and multifamily regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred
  • Experience with Yardi, Nexus, or similar property management and accounting systems
  • Prior supervisory or training experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications a plus
