Job description

The Legal Assistant will work in the Allentown PA office, supporting busy attorneys and managing case files. This highly organized and detail-oriented professional will be responsible for managing assigned attorneys’ calendars, emails, telephone communications, and mail correspondence. Additional responsibilities include coordinating deadlines, preparing, and editing correspondence, and managing engagement letters and billable invoices.


Other Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Drafting, revising, and reformatting pleadings, motions, correspondence, discovery, and other legal documents.
  • Manage all incoming mail.
  • Manage calendars and assist in meeting deadlines.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and attorneys.
  • Opening new files, preparing conflicts checks and drafting engagement letters.
  • Process monthly billing, time entry, and general office responsibilities.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned in support of attorneys.
  • E-file all court documents in state, federal court, and appellate courts.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ legal administrative assistant experience required.
  • State (PA) and Federal e-filings experience required.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, including advanced use of MS Word (including redlining, comparing documents, advanced formatting, Table of Contents and Table of Authorities creation and manipulation, and hyperlinks).
  • Proficiency in the use of document management systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills; very detail- oriented.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years as a legal assistant in a law firm required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to operate office equipment (keyboard, copy machine, etc.) for prolonged periods.
