Job Description

  • Lead all day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, billing, and fixed assets.
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare financial statements, executive dashboards, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Oversee job costing, project accounting, Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting, and revenue recognition.
  • Partner with Project Managers to monitor project performance, profitability, budgets, and financial risks.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, working capital, and treasury activities.
  • Oversee billing, collections, accounts receivable, and cash management.
  • Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial compliance.
  • Coordinate audits, tax filings, insurance, bonding, and regulatory reporting.
  • Improve accounting systems, financial reporting, and operational processes.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop accounting staff while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
  • Minimum 1+ year of construction or mechanical contracting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
  • Experience with job costing and WIP reporting preferred.
  • Experience with Sage Timberline/Sage 300 CRE or similar construction accounting software preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
