Job Description

Addison Group is partnering with a well-established organization seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting operations and provide strategic financial oversight. This position is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader with extensive government contracting experience, strong technical accounting knowledge, and expertise in Deltek Costpoint.

Reporting to executive leadership, the Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure compliance with government contracting regulations, lead financial reporting, and mentor an established accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee government contract accounting and billing activities while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes.
  • Manage budgeting, cash flow forecasting, treasury activities, and banking relationships.
  • Serve as the primary contact for external financial and government audits.
  • Oversee indirect rate calculations and provide financial support for contract pricing and proposals.
  • Partner with executive leadership to provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations.
  • Mentor, develop, and supervise accounting staff while driving operational improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Advanced experience with Deltek Costpoint is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
  • Extensive government contracting accounting experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, FAR, CAS, and DCAA compliance.
  • Proven experience managing government contract billing.
  • Experience leading accounting teams and improving financial processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
