Job description

We are assisting one of our clients with their search for an Assistant Controller. Reporting to the Controller the Assistant Controller will lead a team responsible for the accounting close, financial reporting, and accounts payable.
  • Location: Irvine, CA - hybrid
  • Compensation: $135,000-$160,000 plus bonus
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Controller in managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process
  • Prepare and/or review journal entries, complex account reconciliations, and reporting schedules
  • Support the Controller in the preparation, review and timely issuance of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Review preparation of quarterly and annual sales/use tax returns
  • Assist with preparation for external and internal audits; coordinate supporting schedules and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards, corporate and internal policies and internal controls
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years' progressive accounting experience
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Strong understanding of U.S GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Active or inactive CPA required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience with corporate ERP/accounting systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Excel (advanced level
