Assistant Controller

Role Overview

Stardom Employment Consultants is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support the financial operations of a well-established organization in the Fresno area. This role will assist with month-end close, financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting team leadership while helping ensure accurate and timely financial information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Controller with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, account reconciliations, and management reports.
  • Oversee general ledger activity, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting.
  • Analyze financial data and investigate variances, trends, and unusual transactions.
  • Help maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate audit and tax preparation activities and provide requested documentation.
  • Supervise, train, and support accounting staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close procedures.
  • Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
