Overview:
The role is focused on providing financial analysis and support to enhance profitability in collaboration with Operations and Commercial teams. The Plant Controller will work alongside Plant Managers to identify opportunities and develop operational strategies using market data.
What you will be doing:

  • Collaborate with operations management to understand production costs and efficiency metrics.

  • Provide financial insights on pricing, margins, and profitability to support the commercial team.

  • Serve as a financial advisor for strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts within the plant.

  • Oversee accounting closure duties, including journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of mill inventory counts.

  • Review documentation monthly and adjust inventories as needed in conjunction with operations for process improvements.

  • Work closely with mill management to enhance business decision-making.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts.

  • Evaluate assumptions and conduct financial impact analyses to guide forecasting decisions.

  • Help prepare annual plan presentations and take part in management meetings when required.

  • Complete product costing and input data into financial systems.

  • Support financial planning for capital expenditures.

  • Model core company values.


What you must have:

  • BS or BA degree in Accounting.

  • Minimum of three years of accounting experience.

  • Proficient in costing models and margin analysis.

  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel.
