As our Assistant Controller, you'll partner closely with the Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, lead month-end close activities, support audits, supervise accounting staff, and help drive continuous improvement across our Finance Department. What You'll Do
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses
  • Support audits, budgeting, financial reporting, and cash management
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff
  • Improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls
  • Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations
  • Serve as the Controller's operational backup when needed
We're Looking For Someone Who Has
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and audits
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or government-funded accounting is a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Work Location

This is a fully onsite position in El Cajon, CA. Remote and hybrid work are not available.
