Controller Operations Manager Jobs (NOW HIRING)

SALARY: $150,000–$250,000, DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND OVERALL FIT.

VERY BUSY 20 employee AGENCY (High-End Law Firm & Partner level Placement) - Seeks an ACCOUNTING OPERATIONS MANAGER/CFO.

We are looking for a sharp, quick & RESULT ORIENTATED person with at least 10 years of this experience.

This person must be DOING THE WORK THEMSELVES.

• Must be able to do the work themselves and deliver on all duties and expectations required of this role.

Tasks include:

• Paying all vendor bills
• Handling AMEX bill disputes
• Interpreting legal fee agreements
• Generating large invoices and receiving timely payment
• Seeing ALL credit cards are registered for relevant bill pays, etc.

Must be responsive, & our CEO must be a priority.

• She has an exceptional work ethic and carries a tremendous level of responsibility as CEO. Her broad executive workload has required her to remain far more involved in day-to-day operations and staff matters than would be appropriate for a CEO-level role.

This person needs to oversee managing All vendors and staff and report back to the CEO.

Someone who is ultra responsive, career focused and knowledgeable to either manage and oversee or hire reasonable experts (like HR) to do so.

Our infrastructure has outgrown our ONE IT person - we need more depth; and other processes & vendors; we outsource HR - this is a role we are currently searching for.

While our CEO focuses on closing deals for the firm, the CFO must be responsible for dealing with all matters concerning staff, bills, vendors, and daily operations.

While the main office is in Century City/Westwood, our CEO resides in New York, mostly. At times, she may work out of LA as this is her original residence and the location of her 2nd home.

• Aside from the staff office in LA and the CEO's office in NY, currently, we are also considering opening an office in Dallas.

Preferred would be a professional based in Southern California - LA, Surrounding Areas, or even Ventura County. While New York is also an option - LA would be easier.

Someone connected with CPA firms -as our CPA of 25 years passed away suddenly 1.5 years ago.

& that said- we have outgrown that prior infrastructure with our growth.

We MAY open an office in Texas (Dallas) & are open to that geography.

Role Description

We are considering:

1- CFO & Operations candidates who have their own practices and some clients, but availability to work 30-40 hours a week; or

2- A Full Time Role (likely needed)

We are a small business with about 20 employees. The staff are based in our Los Angeles office. The CEO in New York.

This person must have a professional office, ideally with an infrastructure of their own. Our temporary person works for an accounting firm servicing clients. Our prior person had their own corporation, but we were their main client. & that person serviced referred clients of our last accounting firm.

This person must:

1-have experience with bill paying for all vendors;

2-Be Excellent at dealing with all vendors, including corrupt ones & executing transactions at all levels (including returns);

3- A track record of delivering and results for current and past clients which benefit our business;

4- 24 x 7 responsiveness - or what is humanly possible.

5- Extremely organized, do things yesterday type

6- a Stable work history and sticks with things

7- Business minded and not an emotional player

Supporting intense CEO's or executives with a successful track record and stellar references a plus.

This is a full-time remote role for a Controller & Operations Manager (CFO). The individual in this role will oversee financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and accounting operations. They will manage company operations, optimize internal processes, and ensure operational efficiency. Responsibilities also include analyzing financial data to inform decision-making and providing clear, professional communication with both internal stakeholders and external partners.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Finance, Accounting, and Operations Management
• Excellent Analytical Skills to evaluate and interpret financial and operational data
• Strong Communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting
• Proven ability to manage and improve internal processes while ensuring compliance
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or CPA is a plus)
• Experience in leadership roles, particularly in financial and operational management, is highly beneficial
