Job description

Tyto Athene is searching for a Network Administrator Level II for a complex, multi-year contract to support the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) Information Technology (IT) Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide NIPR/SIPR LAN administration, network configuration, and infrastructure management for servers, switches, routers, encryption devices, wireless infrastructure, cellular, and UPS/power requirements IAW AFTO 00-33A-1106 and 00-33A-1100.
  • Provide cabling services for station cables (wall jack to devices), patch cables [patch panel to network equipment, and minor office space configuration changes for example ten (10) drops].
    • Renovations requiring specialized experience/equipment, e.g. confined spaces, above standard ladder height, are outside the scope of this PWS.
    • Government will provide sufficient detail of required tasks to include location, bldg, start-to-finish distance, and expected outcome. Government will also ensure any drilling or cutting is completed to provide contractor with unobstructed run.
    • Contractor may be asked to assist with surveys and provide expertise for suggestions/COAs, but government will approve final details/expected outcome
    • Contractor is responsible for running cable and terminating at proper location.
  • Manage/Administer/Allocate Internet Protocol (IP) address space, e.g. subnetting, DHCP management.
  • Configure and maintain system accounts for CT functions.
  • Configure and maintain CT tools, e.g. software, appliances.
  • Monitor security of devices and implement new configurations and/or IOS upgrades.
  • Establish, configure and maintain access Control Server/Identity Service (currently Identity Service Engine (ISE)) IAW AFTO 00-33A-1113.
  • Monitor and report LAN bandwidth utilization and circuit latency.
  • Install and sustain Unified Communications devices, switches, and network infrastructure (fiber, copper, power, etc.).
  • Plan and execute software and hardware upgrades and revisions.
  • Conduct system analyses to resolve configuration and equipment problems, e.g. degraded service troubleshooting, root cause analysis, etc.
  • Manage and configure local Unified Compute hardware and software.
  • Perform Equipment, Supply, and COMSEC Custodian duties, as needed.
  • Track Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) of required devices, servers, comm closets, etc., using Integrated Maintenance Database System (IMDS), or other HQ AFRC designated system IAW AFTO 00-33A-1001. Manage, configure, install, and maintain encryption devices and associated management tools, e.g. TACLANEs, GEM.
  • Identify, recommend, implement at government direction, and manage automated configuration tools/systems that improve configuration management efficiencies and apply best practices for layer 2 and layer 3 networks and assets.
  • Manage and coordinate local wireless and cellular infrastructure.
  • Serve as the local focal point for CT problem resolution.
  • Ensure physical security/maintenance of CT hardware (NIPR/SIPR).
  • Ensure cyber security compliance for DoD and AF (CORA) and meet all AFRC cyber compliance requirements; following AFRC established processes.
  • Telephony services IAW AFTO 00-33A-1108.Manage IP scopes, including controlling of IP assignments with established IP space. Track using database and proper change management practices.  (Especially important for onboarding and offboarding process of new servers/systems and devices on the network.)
  • Contribute to and manage relevant NAD (Network Address Declaration list) and NRD (Non Reportable Device list) entries, especially as it relates to configuration management and cyber security practices (and CORA).
  • Support AF and AFRC host base configuration management and change management CT activities and documentation. This includes documentation, architecture drawings, network maps, datacenter diagrams, rack elevation maps, etc.  Follow AFRC and AF change management processes including creation and submission of change requests (which will include relevant documentation) locally or at the enterprise level.  This also includes creation and coordination of forms for changes, such as AF Force 1067 Change request.
    • Supports CITS-AO in the creation and coordination of forms for changes, such as AF Force 1067 Change request.
    • Supports requirements definition and management of the base level E&I WP.

Required:

  • At least 3 years technical experience utilizing Cisco devices.
  • At least 3 years technical experience utilizing Unified Communications.
  • At least 3 years technical experience utilizing TACLANE encryption devices and management software.
  • At least 1 year of IVR scripting experience using voice extensible markup language or other common IVR programming languages. (ARPC only).
  • Ability to apply AFRC process for STIG application within 45 calendar days of employment start date of start.
  • Minimum of a Sec+ certification
  • Networking CCNA preferred, but may be waived with at least two (2) years equivalent experience or related degree

  • Active DoD Secret clearance

Travel:

  • Minimal, less than 10%

Compensation:

  • Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $65,000.00 This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
