Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify co-occurring disorders and establish a baseline for individualized treatment needs.
  • Design and implement evidence-based treatment plans that address each client's specific challenges, promoting their recovery and resilience.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions focusing on addiction, trauma, and related mental health issues, fostering a safe space for open dialogue and healing.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to align with their evolving needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare professionalsโ€”including psychiatrists, addiction counselors, and social workersโ€”to deliver comprehensive holistic care for clients.
  • Educate clients and their families on mental health concepts, addiction recovery principles, and coping strategies to ensure support beyond therapy sessions.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with legal guidelines, ensuring compliance with ethical standards.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a varied client base that includes individuals with substance use disorders, trauma histories, and other co-occurring mental health issues. You will serve an essential function in supporting clients to navigate their recovery paths, helping them develop the skills necessary for long-term emotional and mental wellness.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in New York State.
  • A minimum of 3 years of recent experience providing mental health support in clinical settings, particularly with clients facing addiction issues.
  • Additional training or specialization in rehabilitation mental health counseling is highly preferred.
Preferred Experience

Experience with evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing will be beneficial for this position. Familiarity with digital health platforms used in telehealth settings is also advantageous, as it enhances your ability to deliver effective remote counseling.
