Job description

REPORTS TO: Building Principal, Asst. Principal or Assistant Building Administrator
SUPERVISES: Noneย 
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
COMPENSATION: $15.00/hour
WORK CALENDAR: 183 Days
STANDARD HOURS: 7.5 Hours/Day Monday - Thursday
CORP STATUS: Classified
PERF: CPCSC is a Non-PERF Districtย 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Report to administrator or designee for daily schedule
  • Be flexible, as teacher absences will dictate the daily assignments
  • Be professional at all times
  • Follow all school rules, procedures, and district policies
  • Professional attire is expectedย 
  • When assigned, assume the duties and roles of the regular classroom teacher
  • Supervise and manage the classroom, including student discipline
  • Supervision of students outside of the classroom during the school day as directed by administration administration
  • Implementation of lesson plans left by the teacher to maximize academic time and motivate students to be engaged learners
  • Assign tasks and homework according to the daily lesson plan provided
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity level and interests of the students
  • Take all precautions to protect equipment, materials, and facilities
  • Foster a safe and positive classroom environment.ย  Ensure appropriate constant student supervision and assure the health, welfare, and safety of students
  • Report injuries, accidents, and issues to the school nurse or administration
  • The permanent substitute teacher position may be a single classroom or in multiple assignments within a day

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Possess a Substitute Teacher Permit issued by the Indiana Department of Education or hold a valid Indiana Teachers License
  • Prior experience working with students desired
  • A degree from higher education is preferred but not required.ย  Must meet all Clark-Pleasant employee eligibility criteria
