The Rental Branch Manager is responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the assigned branch or branches including heavy equipment operations, Cat Compact operations, high volume activity, supervisory direct reports and large fleet responsibility. The position is expected to advise and make recommendations to the Regional Operations Manager with respect to the best interests of the company.  Duties include all areas of running an independent business: personnel management, budget establishment and compliance, policy enforcement, and operations effectiveness.

Pay rate starting at $97,196.14 annually.
Pay rate is dependent upon education and experience. 

Essential Functions:

  • Manages IRental reporting designed to adhere to and promote our 10W initiatives: On time delivery, service response time, invoice accuracy, etc.
  • Provides direction for front of house operations to include showroom, rental counter, retail presence and overall customer experience.
  • Participates in quarterly rental branch and counter audits
  • Provides direction for the service department for compliance to unavailable fleet metrics, PDI’s and general rental turn completion, etc.
  • Responsibility for P/L of the assigned branches to include:
    • Developing and adhering to annual budget
    • Hiring and training new employees
    • Ensure timely performance review and payroll functions are completed
  • Supervises store purchases and processes A/P documents to ensure timely payment to vendors
  • Conducts monthly branch meetings to discuss metrics, successes, coaching on customer experience and branch execution
  • Completes quarterly inventories for assigned branch(s)
  • Develops a climate of “Safety First” by modeling and enforcing all safety procedures
  • Develops and coordinates effective work schedules for all areas of the branch to allow for the efficient operations of the branch and to accommodate emergency requests
  • Works with Sales and Rental Admin on incoming new inventory process
  • Communicates with Credit, Service, Sales, Transportation, Rental admin and other areas as needed.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with field and office personnel, as well as with outside customers and vendors
  • Requires advanced knowledge of the Rental Fleet and IRental platform.
  • Working knowledge of Wagner Rents and Wagner Equipment Co. CRM Tools
  • Beginning knowledge of basic financial reporting and analysis (Intermediate knowledge preferred)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues through both IRental and Cat Rental Portal
  • Creates, reviews, and maintains immediate and long term plans for proper resource utilization (facility, tooling, and equipment)

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Consults with Regional Operations Manager to reach agreement on annual departmental objectives, budgetary guidelines, customer service levels, and relevant personnel activities
  • Hires, trains, and directs an effective workforce that promotes high productivity while building a team that supports our company’s Statement of Purpose and Principles in Practice
  • Conducts performance reviews and makes salary adjustment recommendations
  • Ensures employees are using company P-card responsibly
  • Ensures tools and supplies are being procured and used in the most effective manner
  • Reviews business reports and responds accordingly (Open POs/Open Workorders, etc.)
  • Attends training regularly – this sends a strong message to your staff that learning is a continual process and everyone needs to work on their personal and professional development

  • Must be skilled at seeking out input from and reaching an agreement with other key managers
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Intermediate knowledge of DBS, CRM/Sales Link, and ET/SIS/SIS Web/STW
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word
  • Advanced knowledge of Wynne

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 25% 

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or other relevant degree preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in a heavy equipment/agriculture equipment dealership at a level of responsibility which includes management of sales, rental, and product support operations
  • 5+ years supervisory/management experience
  • 5+ years administrative/clerical experience
  • 5+ years customer service experience
  • 5+ years sales experience
  • 5+ years technical or mechanical experience (machine service/maintenance)

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must pass all required pre-employment screenings which may include but are not limited to background checks, drug/alcohol testing, fit for duty testing, and any other job-related tests/screenings
